Hobart, IN –  Firefighters extinguished a car blaze on Main Street yesterday. 

According to reports the incident serves as a critical reminder of vehicle fire safety. Authorities advise that if a vehicle catches fire while driving, the driver should pull over safely, turn off the engine, evacuate all passengers, and maintain a distance of at least 100 feet. 

The public is cautioned against attempting to extinguish vehicle fires themselves and to call 911 immediately, keeping all doors closed to prevent the spread of flames.
