WATSEKA, IL – The stage is set for the highly anticipated 2023 Miss Iroquois County Fair Queen Pageant as eight talented and stunning contestants were announced on Thursday. The winner of this prestigious title will be crowned on Tuesday, July 18th at 7pm during the Iroquois County Fair, which runs from July 18th to the 23rd.
Among the contestants is the reigning queen, Jakki Mowrey of Milford, who will be passing on her crown to one of the hopeful contenders. Alongside her in the front row is contestant, Madison Hamilton, a 20-year-old paraprofessional who graduated from Bishop McNamara Catholic High School in 2021.
To the left of Queen Jakki stands Celeste Cummings. The 19-year-old from Danforth is currently pursuing a biology major with an animal science minor and a pre-veterinary focus at Truman State University.
Starting in the back row right, we have Kiernan Tammen. Hailing from Danforth, the 19-year-old graduate of Iroquois West High School is presently studying to become a registered nurse at Kankakee Community College.
To the left of her, Morgan Connor. A 20-year-old senior at Olivet Nazarene University, Morgan graduated from Iroquois West High School in 2020 and is majoring in Public Relations & Strategic Communication with a minor in Music.
Seventeen-year-old Maddie McTaggart,, currently attends the Illinois Mathematics and Science Academy (IMSA) and aspires to pursue a career in law.
Next in line, Jordan Tammen. At 21 years old, Jordan is enrolled in Joliet Junior College, where she is studying applied science in culinary arts management.
Riley Klump, is an 18-year-old recent graduate of Iroquois West High School. Riley will be furthering her education at Illinois State University, majoring in Organizational and Leadership Communications.
Last but not least is Abbey Hanson, contestant number two. The 19-year-old licensed cosmetologist, who graduated from Central High School in 2022, currently practices her craft at Honey Do Hair Salon in Milford.
As the anticipation builds, the residents of Iroquois County eagerly await the coronation of the new Miss Iroquois County Fair Queen. The competition promises to showcase the charisma, talent, and intelligence of these remarkable young women.
