OAK BROOK, IL – As the crisp autumn air sets in, the historic Mayslake Peabody Estate will be hosting an eerie evening of “Gothic Ghost Stories” on Wednesday, October 25, from 7 PM to 8 PM.
Presented by the Forest Preserve District of DuPage County, this free event invites attendees aged 18 and above to experience a night of spine-tingling tales within the confines of the grand Mayslake Hall.
For those who revel in the mysteries of the night, the estate also offers “Mayslake by Moonlight” house tours on select October evenings. Visitors can delve into the history and architectural wonders of the mansion while navigating its corridors under the cloak of night.
Nestled within the 87-acre Mayslake Forest Preserve, the estate boasts scenic trails, pristine lakes, and a variety of native flora. An architectural gem, Mayslake Hall stands testament to the Gilded Age’s grandeur and is a proud member of the National Register of Historic Places.
