Adventure Christian Church offering Antibody Testing

Antibody testing has been available for some time in Kankakee with healthcare clinics like Midwest Express Clinic in Bourbonnais one of the first  in the area to offer such tests back in April.

Now Adventure Christian Church will be doing the same.

The Church is offering the test through Abbott Laboratories  IgG antibody test.  The testing is used to identify a person’s previous exposure to COVID-19.  Abbot says test results have demonstrated results as high as 99.6% accuracy.  The tests will be administered by CHC Wellbeing from Chicago.

Testing will be available on Tuesday, June 30th from 10 am to 2 pm and July 7th from 3 pm to 7pm and will run $130 per test.

Abbott is also the same company that made the Abbott ID five minute COVID-19 test that was later pushed aside due to inconsistency with results for COVID-19 itself. Those tests have been a key mechanism in reopening the United States, with state-run facilities, hospitals, and state run nursing homes using the machines to process their own locally sourced results.

The results have since been published by the Journal of Clinical Microbiology.
