Kankakee, IL – Agape Community Outreach Mission (ACOM) offers new and gentlyused clothing in their Interfaith Kids’ Closet located in Ashbury United Methodist Church in Kankakee.

“We are the best kept secret in the City of Kankakee because although we have been in existence for about five years, we are new to putting the word out. All are welcome,” said Program Coordinator Rick Seemann.

Interfaith Kids’ Closet is open Monday through Thursday from 9:00 a.m. – 4:00 p.m. To make an appointment, call (815) 304-4990. Sizes range from infant to teens. Diapers are also available, as well as, school uniforms for Kankakee School District 111 and Lorenzo Smith School which is located in Hopkins Park.

ACOM is also reaching out to families who may have children who have outgrown their clothes. They are asking for those clothing items that are in good condition be donated to the Kids’ Closet. Residents will then have the option to switch out those clothing items for the correct size.

“We appreciate Agape Community Outreach Mission here in our community who strive to meet the needs of our residents. As the weather cools, it is important to inform the community of the resources available through the Kids’ Closet. Please help us get the word out about these free resources that are available right here in the City of Kankakee,” said Mayor Wells-Armstrong. #
