IDPH: Illinois reports 163k new cases, nearly 1k deaths since Nov 1st

FRANKFORT – Halfway through November, the Illinois Department of Public Health (IDPH) is now reporting over 163,000 new cases this month, with nearly 1,000 deaths.

Sunday, IDPH reported an additional 10,631 cases Sunday, including 72 COVID related deaths.  It marked the 10th straight day of reports over 10,000 cases or more dating back to November 6th.  There have now been 163,316 new cases of COVID-19 in Illinois in November, including 985 recently reported deaths since November 1st.

In Region 7, Will County has reported 42 COVID related deaths this month ranging in ages 30 to 90 years old.  According to the Kankakee County Coroner Sunday, 90 deaths have now been COVID related since the pandemic began.

There are now 573,616 cases to date in Illinois, including 10,742 COVID related deaths.
