Symphony of Joliet now has over 100 cases of COVID-19 at their facility, with 50 of those staff at the facility.

Out of 105 who tested positive tied to Symphony, only 55 have been residents, the remaining cases staff members.

To date as of Tuesday, 26 deaths had occurred at Symphony of Joliet due to the pandemic, including two employees. The nursing home is one of the largest outbreaks in all of Illinois at a long-term care facility.

The total number of COVID-19 cases at Symphony of Joliet has reached 105 with nearly half of those being employees.

Symphony of Joliet believes they were able to trace cases at the facility back to a maintenance supervisor who set up tables and installed them in 40 rooms across the facility for residents to begin distancing themselves from other residents.  That maintenance supervisor later died from COVID-19. At the time of setup, Symphony reports he was showing no symptoms.

On Tuesday, IDPH listed 93 cases at Symphony of Joliet.  IDPH Director Dr. Ngozi Ezike said website results sometimes lag in showing total results at local facilities.
