From April 12th to April 19th, eight people died from conditions brought on by COVID-19.  A total of 18 people have died in the County to date from the disease.

Officials at the Kankakee County Health Department have been next to non-existent regarding details surrounding those who have passed, except to express their condolences in public releases.

Prior to this past week, there had only been 10 deaths total since the pandemic began. Yesterday, Kankakee County Health Department reported just four new cases of COVID-19.

The Health Department is expected to announced today’s numbers at 3 pm this afternoon.
