KANKAKEE, Ill. – The Illinois Department of Transportation (IDOT) has kicked off a major construction project on Illinois 115 (Jeffrey Street) in Kankakee, which will cause traffic delays for several months.

Spanning from Washington Avenue to Gar Creek, just south of 1000S Road, the project involves milling, resurfacing, and various improvements.

Starting from Monday, May 22, commuters can anticipate disruptions as one lane of traffic will be controlled by flaggers whenever construction crews are present.

The $2.1 million undertaking, which includes prior repairs like patching, drainage enhancements, and ADA sidewalk upgrades, is slated for completion by August 15.

Motorists should prepare for delays.
