Kankakee, ILPlay Palz 101 continues to meet the needs of families. Play Palz recently open their fourth location at 270 N. Schuyler Ave in Kankakee next to the Helen Wheeler Center.

With the addition of a downtown location, business owner Peggy Michalik anticipates continued growth within the community. Play Palz 101 began in 2005 in Michalik’s home which started with seven children. They are located in Bourbonnais, Chebanse, and now two sites in the City of Kankakee. Across all four locations, Play Palz provides service to 546 children and their families.

“We really want children to be able to come and have a place that is safe where they are provided the best care and a space to grow,” said business owner Peggy Michalik.

With 20 years of experience working with children, and raising six of her own, Michalik understands the meaning of quality care. She created and assists with programs to best fit the needs of their families. These programs include Early Head Start, Two’s, Toddlers, Preschool, Before and After School Care, and care for children with special needs. Financial assistance is also available.

“It is so rewarding to watch the children grow through our programs. You really feel like you become a part of the family,” said business owner Peggy Michalik.

“Having a childcare facility in downtown Kankakee greatly benefits the children, parents and families in this growing community. It takes a village while we continue to invest in the next generation,” said Mayor Wells-Armstrong.

Play Palz 101 is open Monday through Friday at all locations. For more information, visit their website at www.playpalz101.com or call 815-936-0101.
