The Salvation Army in Kankakee reported the theft of a kettle earlier today outside of the Big Lots store in Bradley.

According to reports, the kettle was stolen while a bellringer was on break inside of the store earlier today. Salvation Army said on a social media post earlier this morning that, “there was no way of knowing how much money as in the kettle. Thankfully it was still early in the day.”

Each Kettle costs Salvation Army $35 each.

The annual ringing of the bells is the Salvation Army’s largest fundraiser of the year. These donations help the organization throughout the year deliver valuable services and help to the community for the remainder of the year.

If you have any information on the theft, please contact Bradley Police.
