The Manteno Chamber of Commerce hosted its first annual “Thrill of the Putt” adult putt-putt tournament on Saturday, April 27 at various businesses located in Manteno. The progressive mini golf tournament began at the Leo Hassett Community center, took place between 12 different businesses that hosted “holes”, and ended at Stampede Saloon for a “19th hole” celebration.

At the event, participants competed at holes designed by the different participating businesses, utilizing putters provided by each respective business. Various prizes were awarded at the celebration at Stampede Saloon for different achievements, including an award for the “best hole design” by a participating business, which was awarded to Ryleigh’s Gaming Café.

10% of the registration fee for the event was donated to the Prince Home veteran’s shelter in Manteno, in addition to $1,020 in cash donations and a large donation of household items that were collected by event attendees.
