Workforce Center of Will County releases September Workshops schedule

WILL COUNTY – The Workforce Center of Will County (WCWC) offers a wide variety of services to assist both job seekers and employers with employment needs. These services include classes on resume writing, practicing interview skills, and updating computer proficiency. The center also provides information about career scholarships and on the job training. These services are available from 8:30 a.m. until 4:30 p.m., Monday through Friday in the center’s Resource Room.  

“Our Resource Room is filled with state of the art computers and copy/fax machines to help connect our residents with local employers,” said Michelle Stiff, director of the WCWC. “We also have certified staff on site who can assist our customers update their resume, participate in a mock interview, and learn new computer skills. There are many good job opportunities in our county and we want to help prepare our customers for these jobs.”  

The center offers On the Job Training at 10:00 a.m. on Mondays in September to offer job seekers new skills training for a wide range of high demand industries. From 8:30 a.m. until 4:30 p.m., each Wednesday, job seekers can pick up a “Job Fair in a Bag” filled with job listings with Will County employers and resources for a job search including sample resumes, interviewing tips and more.  

For job seekers who want in person training, a variety of services are available in the Resource Room including these special workshops:  

            Master Your Job Search at 2:00 p.m. on Tues. Sept. 1. 

            Networking Tools for Today’s Job Market at 10:00 a.m. on Fri. Sept. 3. 

            Standout Resumes at 2:00 p.m. on Weds. Sept. 8.  

            Successful Interviewing at 2:00 p.m. on Thurs. Sept. 16.  

            Video Conferencing at 2:00 p.m. on Tues. Sept. 21. 

            Transferrable Skills at 2:00 p.m. on Thurs. Sept. 23.  

            LinkedIn Lab at 10:00 a.m. on Weds. Sept. 29.  

All of these workshops are available on the WCWC Facebook Page: WorkforceCenterofWillCounty. The center also offers traditional computer skills training in Microsoft PowerPoint at 2:00 p.m. on Tues. Sept. 7, Word at 10:00 a.m. on Tues. Sept. 14, and Excel at 10:00 a.m. on Tues. Sept. 28.
