Minimum Wage increases to $10 per hour beginning July 1st in Illinois

Springfield – Minimum wage in the State of Illinois is about to see an increase for the second time this year as it goes up to $10 per hour July 1st.

Earlier this year wages increased to $9.25 to start the year.

Employee wages will increase differently in Chicago, with wages in Cook County and the city rising to $13 per hour Wednesday and $14 for employeers with 21 or more employees.

Workers are being encouraged to verify the increase on their checks for the pay period ending after the first of the month. Future wage increases will take place on the first of each year, beginning next January until 2025, when wage increases reach $15 per hour in Illinois.
