LOMBARD, Ill. — Lombard’s recent high-profile liquor theft, which culminated in a high-speed chase and allegedly over $6,100 in stolen booze, has once more shined a light on the complexities of Illinois’ catch-and-release justice system approach.

According to police reports it happened around 10:30 p.m. Wednesday night when three men — Travonta Turner, Deandre Richardson, and Jonnie Fort — were arrested post-chase near I-290 in Chicago. However, in an ironic twist, while all three were granted pretrial release, a unique condition was imposed: a strict ban from all Lombard Liquor establishments.

While the next court date awaits the trio on November 20, 2023, the ban underscores the seriousness of the charges they face.
