The Field Museum and Shedd Aquarium announced earlier today they will be closed to the public based on Gov. Pritzker and the City of Chicago’s recommendations earlier today from March 14th to March 29th.

Any programs hosted at both facilities will be postponed. Adler Planetarium announced its closure until further notice:

The Shedd will continue to have its caretakers and veterinarians on hand to provide care and welfare for animals on-site during the closure. The Shedd also said it will be stepping up its behind-the-scenes game via its social feeds for residents who can’t make it during the extended closure.

No cases of COVID-19 have been found at all three locations. This is a proactive effort to protect staff, visitors, and members of all organizations at this time.
