DALLAS, TX – Tuesday morning, a group of teenagers riding on horseback near Great Trinity Forest and Julius Schepps Freeway in Dallas was hit by a vehicle, resulting in the death of a 14-year-old rider and two stolen horses.

Dallas Police have confirmed that the other two riders, aged 16 and 17, were transported to a nearby hospital and are currently in stable condition.

According to authorities, the horses had been stolen prior to the accident. One horse was killed on impact, while the other was humanely euthanized by a veterinarian. The third horse survived the accident, but sustained injuries and is currently receiving treatment.

The driver involved in the crash will not face any charges, as stated by the Dallas Police. The incident is still under investigation, and further details have not yet been released.

Lorenza Gooch, the owner of the horses, stated that the two deceased horses, Belly Wind Me Up and Waco Sassy Kid, were part of his chariot-style racehorse circuit, which uses carts instead of saddles. The third horse, Logo Winner, suffered minor injuries.

It remains unclear whether the surviving riders will face charges related to the incident.
