WATSEKA, IL – Get your cans ready and be a superhero for Iroquois County families! The Watseka Area Food Pantry is on a mission and is urging the community to unleash their generosity by donating canned fruits, canned beans, and canned vegetables throughout the month of June.

But wait, there’s more! This incredible pantry is also seeking holiday goodies like sweet potatoes, pumpkin, instant potatoes, and cranberry sauce, as well as tasty condiments like jelly, catsup, peanut butter, mayonnaise, and mustard. Don’t forget the essentials—paper products like toilet paper, kleenex, paper towels, paper plates, and napkins are also in high demand!

Located in the Fellowship Hall of Watseka First United Methodist Church (301 S. Fourth Street), this superhero headquarters awaits your heroic contributions. If you want to donate items that are most needed, simply give the fantastic volunteers a call at 815-432-0122 between 9 a.m. and 11 a.m. Be patient, as there’s no answering service, but trust us, your wait will be worth it!

And hey, fellow do-gooders, if you find yourself in need of pantry items, remember to dial the same number on the day you want to pick up your orders. Our food heroes will assemble your supplies and provide curbside pickup for your convenience.

Let’s ensure our donations pack a punch by making sure items are in their original packaging and haven’t exceeded their use-by date. Remember, every can and every box counts!

Together, let’s save the day, one nutritious meal at a time. Donate to the Watseka Area Food Pantry and be the hero our community needs!
