Chicago Woman Arrested for Aggravated DUI Causing Severe Injuries in I-94 Crash

CHICAGO, IL  – A shocking incident unfolded on June 30, 2023, when Illinois State Police (ISP) responded to a devastating traffic collision on Interstate 94 near Taylor Street. The crash resulted in severe injuries and led to the arrest of 28-year-old Keana B. Petty of Chicago, IL.

According to investigators, it was in the early hours of the morning, at around 1:15 a.m., an unfortunate collision occurred between a Chevrolet and a Truck Tractor Semi Trailer. Both Petty, the driver of the Chevrolet, and her passenger were rushed to a nearby hospital for medical treatment.

On August 10, 2023, the Cook County State’s Attorney’s Office announced formal charges against Petty. She faces the serious accusation of Aggravated Driving Under the Influence, a Class 2 Felony, which resulted in Great Bodily Harm. The bond has been set at $25,000, with a 10 percent requirement for application.

The Cook County Department of Corrections took custody of Petty on August 11, 2023. However, details surrounding the incident remain limited as the investigation continues.
