Danville Motorcyclist Dies in Fatal Crash after Hitting Pothole on I-74

CHAMPAIGN, IL – A tragic accident claimed the life of a 24-year-old Danville man on Saturday night. 

According to Illinois State Police (ISP), Jacob Lovell was riding his Harley-Davidson motorcycle eastbound on I-74 when he hit a pothole and lost control. Lovell was thrown from his bike and hit by a passing vehicle. 

He was rushed to the hospital but was later pronounced dead. 

ISP reported that the driver of the passing vehicle was unable to avoid hitting Lovell.
