Elmhurst Bank Heist Unfolds Thursday Afternoon at US Bank on York Street

Elmhurst, IL – Elmhurst Police are investigating a brazen bank robbery that took place Thursday afternoon at the US Bank on York Street.

According to the Elmhurst Police Department, officers were dispatched to 536 S. York Street at approximately 3:25 p.m. in response to the robbery. The suspect, described as a Black male in his 20s, standing 6 feet tall with a heavy build, was reportedly wearing a gray face mask, black hoodie, and gray backpack. Witnesses last saw the suspect exiting the bank’s north door into the parking lot. He is believed to be armed with a handgun, heightening concerns for public safety.

Police have since conducted a thorough search of the immediate area but have yet to locate the suspect.

Elmhurst Police are actively seeking any information or video footage that might aid in their investigation. They urge anyone with relevant details to contact them at (630) 530-3050. The investigation is ongoing, and authorities are working diligently to identify and apprehend the individual responsible for this daring crime.
