Kankakee, IL – A shooting incident on Friday night in Kankakee has resulted in four individuals, including minors, being injured.
Kankakee City Police responded to reports of gunfire at the intersection of River St and Fourth Ave around 9:14 p.m. on February 2, 2024. At the scene, they found several shell casings and a bullet-riddled Chevy Tahoe. Shortly after, three gunshot victims, including two 17 years olds, arrived at a nearby Hospital. A white Hyundai, also struck by bullets, was discovered near the hospital by Kankakee County Deputies.
The 23-year-old victim was later transferred to a Chicago hospital for further treatment, while the minors sustained non-life-threatening injuries. An additional 18-year-old victim with a non-life-threatening arm wound sought help at an area Hospital.
Kankakee City Detectives are investigating the multiple scenes, and due to the incident’s severity, additional patrols and enforcement actions are being implemented by the Illinois State Police and Kankakee County Sheriff’s Department.
