CHICAGO – Governor JB Pritzker and the Illinois Department of Financial and Professional Regulation (“IDFPR”) announced today the outcomes of the highly anticipated Social Equity Criteria Lottery (“SECL”) for Conditional Adult Use Cannabis Dispensary Licenses.

A staggering number of approximately 2,700 applications were submitted, vying for the opportunity to secure one of the coveted 55 licenses. The lottery, conducted in conjunction with the Illinois Lottery, marks a significant surge in participation compared to previous rounds.

Applicants who were selected will now undergo a thorough review process to ensure they meet all the necessary statutory requirements. Once confirmed, these lucky winners will be granted a Conditional License. The results of the SECL, along with additional information and updates, can be found on IDFPR’s Adult Use Cannabis Program webpage.
