Events through summer have been canceled in Chicago due to COVID-19.

Department of Cultural Affairs and Special Events made the announcement today following Governor Pritzker’s announcement in an interview with the Washington Post’s Facebook page that models for the state have shown Illinois peaking sometime ‘maybe mid-May.’

Among the list of events canceled by the City include the Memorial Day Parade, Gospel Music Festival, House Music Festival and Chicago Blues Festival.

Chicago Mayor Lightfoot said she expects the Stay-at-Home order ‘could go into June.’
