Manteno’s 2019 Santa On the Square: Featuring the Lighting of Main Street & Holiday Business Walk

Santa Claus coming to downtown Manteno!

Join the Village of Manteno as we kick off the holiday season with the 7th Annual Lighting of Main Street on Saturday, December 7th. The event begins at 3:00pm with the Holiday Business Walk going until 7pm with over 25 businesses participating. Santa Claus will arrive at 3:30 and the Lighting of Main Street takes place at 5:45pm outside the Leo Hassett Community Center located at 211 N. Main Street. While you are on your way to see Santa on the Square on Second, stop by the Fountain on the Square and watch a live Ice Sculpture demonstration (3-4:30) sponsored by Taylor Ford of Manteno. Walk through our Christmas Tree Lane decorated by local businesses and Santa Claus (sponsored by Silvano’s Pizza) will be taking requests from 3:30-7:45pm. Hungry? You can grab a bite to eat at the Bennett-Curtis Food Truck located at the Square on Second or at one of our local restaurants!

Stick around for live performances from Dave Rudolf Christmas, Dance Alive!, the MHS Chamber Singers, and the MHS Jazz Band. Take a ride on our complimentary Winter Wonderland Wagon or on an old-fashioned horse and carriage rides. The Manteno Public Library will have the Manteno PTO Trees Around the District raffle. They will also be selling Nothing Bundt Cakes for the Friends of the Library Fundraiser.

Experience Manteno’s conveniently charming downtown on the Holiday Business Walk!

Check your own Santa’s List on the Downtown Holiday Business Walk featuring many of our area merchants on Saturday, December 7th from 3-7pm. Lists will be available beginning at 2:45pm at the Leo Hassett Community Center (211 N. Main St.), the Manteno Public Library and participating business locations. You can also find a printable list at www.villageofmanteno.com

Please visit each registered merchant and return your completed list by 8:00pm on Saturday Dec. 7 for the chance to win a gift certificate donated by local businesses. Winners will be announced Monday, December 9th. Limit one list per family.

Give Back for the Holidays This holiday season, consider donating an unwrapped gift, hats, scarves or mittens for children ages 2-10 in the Manteno Christmas Baskets. You can get a gift tag from the Village Hall (98 E. Third St) Christmas tree between 8-4:30pm M-F.
