Merchant Street Music Fest, Kankakee’s two-day music festival, launched Friday night. Local folks and visitors enjoyed a variety of rock, country, blues, soul, and much more on the three stages spread across Miner Square. Local group Carrying Torches kicked off the concert series on the Hill Stage while BrickStone Brewery served up drinks near by. Fest goers also enjoyed good food served by MiaBella Wood Fired Pizza, Brother George’s BBQ, Martinez Tacos, and more.

Saturday, headline group All-4-One will closeout the Fest on the main stage. Saturday will also have the addition of an artist alley between the Platform and Hill stages.
