NAPERVILLE, IL – A Chihuahua named Bunny, adopted by a couple from Naperville in 2017, has become a finalist for a television commercial as the Cadbury Easter bunny. Bunny is among the 10 finalists in the Cadbury Bunny Tryouts, where voters can choose their favorite bunny for a nationally televised commercial for Cadbury Creme Eggs.
Bunny was adopted from Tails Humane Society in DeKalb and is described as being “as sweet as a Cadbury Creme Egg.” The winner’s owners will receive $5,000, and they can donate $5,000 to the animal shelter of their choosing. Bunny’s owners, Jeff and Emily Meader, have always named their rescue dogs after other animals and have supported local rescue operations.
Bunny was part of a group of five dogs that were rescued from a hoarding situation. Cadbury officials received thousands of submissions and narrowed the field down to 10 finalists, including Bunny. Bunny faces stiff competition from other animals such as a duck, a Guinea pig, and a miniature horse.
Bunny’s owners are happy that Bunny is getting the attention and hope to see Bunny win the competition.
