Investigation underway after bodies discovered in Car at Lockport Walmart

LOCKPORT, IL – Police are investigating the deaths of a man and a woman who were found dead in a vehicle at the Walmart located at 16241 South Farrell Road Monday afternoon. 

The victims, whose identities have not been released by the Will County Coroner’s Office, were discovered by authorities after appearing to be sleeping inside the parked vehicle.

While the cause of death has not yet been determined, police believe it could be the result of carbon monoxide poisoning or a drug overdose. 

According to Lockport police, the possibility of carbon monoxide poisoning is being investigated due to the victims’ appearance and location. However, they are not ruling out a drug overdose as a potential cause.

The Will County Coroner’s Office has yet to release any information regarding the preliminary cause and manner of death. The investigation is ongoing, and anyone with information is encouraged to contact Lockport police.

The Walmart parking lot remained closed for several hours as authorities investigated the scene. No further details have been released at this time.
