CHAMPAGNE – A man is dead after he was reportedly pinned under a John Deere mower in Edgar County.

According to Edgar County Sheriff’s Office, it happened after a 911 call came in August 25th from the father of a man who found his son trapped under a mower a rural Chrisman farm.

Reports say 24-year-old Joshua Grant Blue was pronounced dead at the scene of the accident near a pond on the property.  His father and brother reportedly went searching for him after Blue did not return after mowing several locations.

The investigation is still ongoing, but officials report the mower allegedly hit a depression on the bank of the pond before rolling over, pinning Blue underneath.
