Peotone Police Arrest Chicago Heights Man on Felony charge in Connection with April Liquor Store Theft

PEOTONE, IL – The Peotone Police Department announced Thursday evening officers had made in arrest in connection with a retail theft at Peotone Tobacco & Liquor on April 20th, 2023.

According to Peotone Police, Cortez Blevins, 23 of Chicago Heights, was arrested Wednesday afternoon officers located the offending vehicle in the case and executed a search warrant.

Blevins is believed to be one of two unknown individuals at the time that ran into the store and allegedly stole over $1,200 worth of alcohol off the shelves before fleeing. Blevins was charged with a class 3 felony retail theft. His bond was set at $7,500. 

The case remains under investigation as officers work towards identifying the second offender.
