GRUNDY COUNTY, IL – Erin Waibel, a 44-year-old Morris resident, is facing multiple charges in Grundy County, including a class four felony for domestic battery. Waibel is accused of allegedly physically assaulting a former male acquaintance in the Morris area on March 17th around 8:30 a.m.

According to Morris Police, it’s alleged that Waibel damaged a Playstation and laptop computer during the incident.

According to Morris Police Deputy Chief Chad Skelton, Waibel was previously arrested by the Morris Police Department in September 2022 on a domestic battery charge from Grundy County. She was sentenced to one year of conditional discharge for that charge earlier this month.

Waibel is currently free on a $5,000 bond and awaiting trial. The charges against her include resisting an officer and criminal damage to property, both misdemeanors, in addition to the felony charge for domestic battery.

The Morris Police Department is continuing its investigation into the incident. Anyone with information about the case is encouraged to contact the department.

This case highlights the serious consequences of domestic violence and property damage. The Morris Police Department reminds the public that if they or someone they know is experiencing domestic violence, they should seek help immediately.
