Schaumburg Bank Robbery: Police Launch Investigation, Urge Public Vigilance

Schaumburg, IL – On Wednesday afternoon, a bank robbery prompted an ongoing investigation at the US Bank located at 60 S. Meacham Rd. 

The Schaumburg Police Department reported that the incident occurred around 1:25 p.m., with a significant law enforcement presence currently at the scene. The suspect is described as a male, approximately 6 feet tall, last seen running southbound from the bank. He was wearing a green hooded sweatshirt and a black mask, and was armed with a black handgun.

Local authorities have advised the community to exercise caution and report any sightings of individuals matching the suspect’s description by calling 911 immediately. 

Residents near the area have been advised to shelter in place for their safety, and motorists are encouraged to seek alternative routes to avoid delays due to the heavy police activity. The police urge the public to stay alert and inform law enforcement of any suspicious behavior.
