West Virginia – Rain taps steadily across Charleston this morning, leaving roads slick and reflective as commuters navigate damp conditions along I-64 and I-77. Visibility holds near 7 miles, but light rain and lingering moisture are enough to slow traffic through late morning.

According to the National Weather Service in Charleston, a Frost Advisory is in effect from 2 a.m. to 10 a.m. Monday, with temperatures expected to drop to around 34°F. That sets up a quick shift from today’s mild, wet conditions to a chilly start that could impact early travel and outdoor plants.

Showers taper by midday, and skies begin to clear this afternoon with highs reaching near 60°F. Roads should gradually improve, but drivers should still watch for slick patches, especially on bridges and shaded areas. Plan extra time if traveling and keep headlights on in rain.

Temperatures fall into the upper 30s tonight, then dip further into the low 30s by early Monday. Patchy frost will develop before sunrise, particularly in valleys and rural areas. Sensitive plants may be damaged if left uncovered, and some isolated slick spots could form where moisture lingers.

Monday rebounds with sunshine and a high near 56°F, followed by a sharp warm-up. Tuesday climbs to 73°F under clear skies, and Wednesday reaches the mid-70s with a chance of showers returning later in the day.
