A new football season is right around the corner. Chicago Bears fans are looking forward to Bears Training Camp 2019. This is the Chicago Bears 18th year holding their camp at Olivet Nazarene University in Bourbonnais, Illinois. The Bears will arrive at ONU on Thursday, July 25. Here is look at the new faces the Chicago Bears added on defense for the new season.
The one-hundred seven heat index didn’t stop football fans from coming out to the Friday Night Lights Fest on Friday. The second-annual family-friendly football festival was held at BrickStone Brewery Production Facility in Bourbonnais, IL. The event was put on by the Kankakee Chamber of Commerce in partnership with the Village of Bourbonnais and the Kankakee County Convention and Visitors Bureau. The festival is a community-wide pep rally and football field event presented by Bear Construction.
This week’s Ultimate is Madelyn Storm, a senior at Gardner South Wilmington High School. Madelyn is a three-sport athlete that plays volleyball, basketball, and softball. Madelyn made the all-conference team for volleyball and basketball in 2019. When described by her basketball coach, Amber Eisha, she said, “Madelyn is one of the most dedicated players I’ve had since taking over [coaching the team] in 2014.”
Amelia was the goalkeeper for the Lady Irish soccer team, who recently won their first Regional Championship in the school’s history. Described by her soccer coach, Marty Ruberry, “Amelia is a very hard-working dedicated player. She is always positive towards her teammates and she is a leader. She is very hard-working in the classroom. Amelia also is a very good competitor and she wants to win.”
