KANKAKEE – A Kankakee man wanted on a 10 million dollars bond was arrested Monday in connection with an active murder case while City Police were investigating a separate shooting that injured three people.
According to reports, it happened in the 400 block of South Rosewood when a man approached a group of people on a front porch and opened fire on the group. Three people were injured in the incident, all with non-life-threatening injuries.
Uninjured witnesses inside the home reportedly refused to aid the police in the search.
While officers were out in search of the shooter, they stopped a man walking near the area and discovered he was wanted on an active murder warrant for 10 million dollars bond in Vermillion County.
City police arrested 22-year-old Darryl Jordan of Kankakee who later tried to escape while being transferred out of a car, but was quickly stopped after officers tazed Jordan.
