Man dies after shot multiple times outside of VFW Hall in Joliet

JOLIET – A man has died of multiple gunshot wounds after an incident in the parking lot of the Cantigny Post 367 VFW Hall.

According to reports, it happened around 9:40 pm Saturday night when officers responded to the VFW located at 826 Horseshoe Drive for reports of a subject that had been shot in the parking lot. Officers found a 40-year-old man who had been shot upon arrival with multiple wounds. 

The man was later transported to nearby AMITA St. Joesph Medical Center where he was pronounced dead.

The Will County Coroner’s Office later identified the man as Aaron E. Harris of Joliet.  An autopsy is scheduled for Monday.
