Rt. 17 crash kills two including Bourbonnais, Kankakee men

KANKAKEE  – Two local men have lost their lives following a head-on crash on Route 17 near Bonfield late Tuesday night.

According to the Kankakee County Coroner’s Office, the crash happened just before midnight last night involving two local men, one heading eastbound and one westbound on the dimly lit country road. Both cars collided causing them to burst into flames. Kankakee County Coroner Bob Gessner reports the wreck claimed the life of 47-year-old Jerry Stallins of Bourbonnais and 37-year-old Michael Jordan of Kankakee.

Both men were pronounced dead at the scene.

No further details on the crash have been released. An investigation into the crash is underway and is being handled by Illinois State Police.
