WILL COUNTY – In order to keep Will County residents safe during the unprecedented COVID-19 crisis and offer convenient ways to pay, Will County Treasurer Tim Brophy has announced alternate deadlines and methods to pay property taxes.

“It is important to maintain the county’s tax cycle to ensure revenues are available to continue critical services for our residents,” Brophy said. “In this new world of social distancing, we are offering alternate methods to pay taxes.”

Real estate tax bills will be mailed beginning on May 1 and the first installment payment will be due June 3. Brophy is encouraging all residents to use one of the alternate methods to pay taxes, rather than come to the office and waiting in often long lines. These options include:

  • Mailing payments in the envelope included with tax bill to: Treasurer, 302 N Chicago Street, Joliet IL 60432.
  • Pay at your personal bank or any of our banks collecting on our behalf.  Visit www.willcountytreasurer.com for these locations.
  • Pay online at www.willcountytreasurer.com. There is no charge for direct payment from your checking account.
  • Drop your payment in one of the two drop boxes at the county building:  in the parking lot for drive up or in the building’s lobby.

Brophy said he understands the difficult time the COVID-19 crisis has caused for many property owners. He said he and his staff are available to answer questions by calling (815) 740-4675 or via email at: treasurer@willcountyillinois.com.
