Step Back in Time: Unearth Lombard Cemetery’s Haunting Tales This October

Lombard, IL – Journey through time this weekend at Lombard’s oldest resting place. On Friday, October 6, and Saturday, October 7, from 6:00 – 8:00 pm, the Lombard Historical Society in collaboration with the Lombard Park District will host “Tales & Tombstones,” an intriguing candlelit tour of the historic Lombard Cemetery.

Guides will immerse attendees in tales of Lombard’s past, introducing characters from over a century ago. Hear their stories, both bizarre and familiar, reflecting the human spirit across time. This unique event offers more than just history – enjoy light refreshments, all in the ambiance of the candlelit cemetery.

Participants, especially those with youngsters aged three and up, should wear sturdy shoes for the uneven terrain. Flashlights are recommended, though strollers, wheelchairs, and baby carriers are discouraged for safety reasons.

Join the tour at the West Gate of Lombard Cemetery, located at South Main Street and Washington Boulevard. With slots limited to sixteen people, secure your tickets today. Admission is $25 for ages 13 and up, and just $5 for kids aged 3-12.
