BRADLEY, IL – The Kankakee County State’s Attorney’s Office has announced a landmark 75-year prison sentence for Cory Williams, 39, after his conviction for the 2020 murder of Antonio Allen in Bradley.
The court found Williams guilty of first-degree murder with a firearm and classified him as an armed habitual criminal. His past convictions for drug-related offenses and armed robbery compounded the length of his sentence.
The judiciary mandates that Williams serve the majority of his sentence, 65 years, at full term, with the possibility of parole only in 2093 when he would reach 109 years of age. The sentence was a result of diligent legal work by Assistant State’s Attorneys Dan Reedy and Rose Aviles and thorough investigations by local law enforcement agencies.
While the State’s Attorney underscored that no sentence could ever compensate for the loss endured by Allen’s family and friends, it is hoped that the substantial prison term awarded to Williams will bring some measure of peace to them.
