Aurora Siblings Sentenced After Traffic Stop Leads to Assault on Police Officer

St. Charles, Ill. – Following a traffic incident that escalated into violence, Aurora siblings Jennifer Taylor and Sheba Taylor have been sentenced to 120 days in jail, along with 200 hours of community service and 4 years of probation. 

Kane County State’s Attorney Jamie L. Mosser announced the sentencing by Judge D.J. Tegeler after the siblings were convicted of aggravated battery against a police officer.

Investigators report the altercation began when Officer J. Miranda stopped the Taylors for disregarding a stop sign on June 21, 2021. The situation quickly intensified after the vehicle pulled into a driveway and both Jennifer and Sheba exited the vehicle and eventually assaulted the officer. The incident culminated with the officer requiring assistance from additional Aurora police to subdue the attackers.

Aurora Police Department commended Officer Miranda for his restraint and professionalism under threat, reinforcing the community’s respect for law and order.
