Illinois Resident Falls Victim to Lotto Scam in Addison, Police Investigate

Addison, IL – The Addison Police Department reported on Tuesday, November 7, that a lotto scam occurred in the area, involving a victim being duped into withdrawing money to aid in cashing a supposedly winning $6 million lotto ticket. 

The victim was approached by the scammer who fled with the money once it was handed over. The Addison Police are conducting a thorough investigation into this incident and are optimistic about making arrests. They emphasized that no force was used against the victim, and no similar incidents have been reported since.

The department urges the public to be vigilant and contact 911 if approached in a similar manner. Anyone with information regarding the incident is encouraged to call 630-543-3080. The police also reaffirmed their commitment to community safety and their policy of informing the public about potential dangers through various channels. The Addison Police Department reminds residents to report any suspicious activities.
