Kane County, IL – State’s Attorney Jamie L. Mosser announced that Tylor Z. Hyde, of Sycamore, has been sentenced to eight years in prison following a violent encounter with a police officer during a domestic disturbance call. The sentencing was delivered by Judge Julia Yetter at the Kane County Courthouse.
The charges stem from an incident on February 3, 2022, when West Dundee Police responded to a report of a domestic disturbance at a local extended stay hotel. During the intervention, Hyde aggressively resisted arrest and injured an officer by shoving him, causing significant bodily harm.
Hyde was convicted on multiple counts, including two counts of Class 2 felony aggravated battery and a Class 4 felony for aggravated assault of a peace officer. The cumulative sentence mandates consecutive terms, highlighting the severity of the offenses.
Assistant State’s Attorneys Katy Flannagan and Brandon Raney noted Hyde’s uncooperative behavior during the arrest and his direct assault on law enforcement personnel. The prosecution praised the West Dundee Police for their professionalism and stressed the community’s firm stance against violence directed at police officers.
