Manteno, IL – Manteno police are investigating a vehicle break-in that occurred at Legacy Park Monday evening.

According to authorities, the incident was reported just after 6 PM when a man returned from a walk along Maple Street to find his car’s driver-side window shattered. The victim, who had parked his vehicle in the Legacy Park lot, discovered his wallet along with credit cards and cash missing.

Investigative efforts led to the review of surveillance footage, which showed another car pulling up next to the victim’s vehicle during the incident. Remarkably, the car involved was identified as having been rented from O’Hare Airport.

The connection to the rental vehicle adds a complex layer to the case, which remains actively under investigation.
