Peoria, IL – ALERT: Fatal Shooting Tuesday Night After Shot Spotter Detects Gunfire

Peoria, IL – On Tuesday evening in Peoria, a fatal incident unfolded following a gunfire alert. 

According to police reports it began around 7:21 p.m., a police officer on patrol in the 100 block of E. Forrest Hill heard shots, promptly confirmed by a Shot Spotter alert for three rounds fired. Arriving officers discovered an adult male with gunshot wounds.The victim was rushed to a local hospital but succumbed to his injuries. 

The identity of the victim is pending notification of next of kin.

The Peoria Police Department’s Criminal Investigations Division, Special Investigations Division, Crime Scene Unit, and Patrol Unit are all actively investigating the case. With no suspects identified yet, authorities are encouraging anyone with information to contact the Peoria Police Department or report anonymously through tip411 or Crime Stoppers.
