Fort Wayne, Indiana – Northern Indiana gardeners and residents are advised to stay vigilant as the National Weather Service forecasts a frost advisory for the coming weekend.

After scattered showers and storms tonight, a dry spell is anticipated, bringing seasonable days ahead with breezy conditions on Friday and Saturday. However, the drop in temperatures to lows between 31-36°F poses a significant risk to early plantings.

According to the NWS Northern Indiana, there is medium to high confidence in frost conditions, particularly during night-time. Community members are urged to safeguard sensitive vegetation as frost/freeze headlines may be necessary. The region will experience gusts reaching 25-30 mph, adding to the chill factor. Stay tuned for further updates and take necessary precautions to protect tender plants and crops.
