Highland, IN – New Recycling Protocols for Batteries Announced

Highland, IN – In a bid to enhance fire safety, Highland, Indiana, announces a change in recycling procedures for batteries. 

Highland Town Hall, in conjunction with the Highland Police Department, has ceased accepting batteries for recycling at their location due to increased fire risk. 

Residents are urged to contact the Lake County Solid Waste Management District for details on proper battery disposal. The shift underscores the community’s commitment to both environmental responsibility and public safety.
