Indianapolis, IN – Following a critical incident on I-65, where a shooting led to a deadly crash into a pond, Indiana State Police have arrested Indianapolis resident Andre Briski, 24, on charges of murder and illegal possession of a firearm.
According to Indiana State Police the arrest occurred last night and was connected to the May 1 shooting near County Line Road. The incident began with emergency calls about gunfire and a vehicle accident near the 102.2 mile marker on I-65 northbound. When first responders arrived, they discovered an unconscious man beside a submerged vehicle; he was later pronounced dead at the scene.
This rapid arrest was aided by crucial information from motorists and quick action by state detectives in locating the involved vehicle.
In addition to Briski’s arrest, Shawna Rowland of Greenwood was also taken into custody, facing charges of assisting a criminal and obstruction of justice. These preliminary charges, as outlined by the Marion County Prosecutor’s Office, are based on probable cause. Both suspects are currently held pending formal charges and are presumed innocent until proven guilty in court.
