Momence, IL – In a remarkable demonstration of community support, nearly $24,000 has been raised in just hours following the launch of a GoFundMe campaign for Amari Crite, a Momence High School student who tragically passed away after collapsing during a basketball game.

Initially set with a goal of $15,000 for funeral expenses, the fundraiser has swiftly surpassed expectations, reflecting the community’s deep commitment to supporting the Crite family in their time of need.

The rapid influx of donations, now just shy of $24,000, came from community members, area schools, and various organizations, showcasing the strong bonds within the Momence community and its surrounding areas. Schools like Gardner South Wilmington Township School District 73, Illinois Lutheran Schools, and Bradley Bourbonnais Community High School have been instrumental in rallying support, offering condolences and solidarity.
