Bourbonnais, IL – Man Shot in Hand Early Saturday Incident, Shakes Local Residents with Accidental Gun Discharge

Bourbonnais, IL – Some area residents in Bourbonnais may have been shaken early Saturday when an accidental gun discharge resulted in a man shooting himself in the hand. 

According to Bourbonnais Police, the incident unfolded around 11:40 AM inside an apartment on Stadium Drive, reminding the community of the paramount importance of firearm safety. The man was reportedly loading his gun when it unexpectedly fired. He sustained injuries to his hand, but fortunately, no other individuals were injured in the accident. 

The police confirmed that the owner of the gun had a valid FOID card at the time of the incident, highlighting that the event was an unfortunate mishap rather than a deliberate act.
